With Stonehenge as its centerpiece, the plains are jam packed with beautiful historic sites to see. There are a number of towns to stay in as a base, why not look at Glastonbury, Bristol, Bath or even Salisbury. There are many landmarks to see in Wiltshire including Woodhenge, Avebury, Stanton Drew and many many more, so next time you are wondering where to go, maybe the south could be exactly what you looking for.
The Peak/Lake District
Quite possibly some of the most beautiful destinations on earth the Peak and Lake Districts are truly breathtaking and true gems worth exploring.

Situated in the North and Central parts of England, the Peak District National Park is the oldest national park on the British Isles. It is also thought to be the second most visited national park (although you still feel very much isolated) in the world only after the Mount Fuji National Park in Japan. So if you are after some spectacular scenery to help you unwind, the Peak District could be the place for you.
The Lake District
Another very famous destination and the best way to experience the district is by driving yourself. It is situated in North West England and is still as rural as England gets. One of the only mountainous regions in the UK is truly is a must see. Access is very easy as well with towns like Lancaster, Kendal and Penrith nearby.
